Orange County Commercial HVAC Mechanical Contractor Company Works With Recycled Water Controls in Irvine
Orange County Commercial HVAC Mechanical Contractor Company, Ram Air Engineering is currently working on a recycled water controls project using Johnson Controls to manage this large water recycling facility under construction in the Irvine Ranch Water District.
Since the groundwater in California is considered a non-renewable resource, it is just too valuable to be used once. Through the use of recycled water in Irvine:
- Drinking water supplies are extended to more than 4,000 customers,
- The need for additional potable water facilities is reduced,
- The amount of treated wastewater discharged into the ocean is reduced,
- The reliance on costly imported water supplies is reduced, and
- Water supply reliability is increased.
The Irvine Ranch Water District (IRWD) in Orange County is a national leader in reclaimed water. Beginning in 1963, a forward-thinking Board of Directors implemented their vision to integrate water recycling into the overall design of the community of Irvine, Orange County. The goal was, and continues to be, to enhance water supply reliability through a comprehensive reclaimed water program. As a result, IRWD’s scope of services was expanded to include wastewater collection and treatment services for the purpose of producing reclaimed water and began delivering recycled water to its agricultural customers within four years of its initial commitment. Today, IRWD’s nationally recognized recycled water program encompasses a wide variety of uses such as landscape irrigation, industrial processes, and toilet flushing in commercial buildings.
Emergency HVAC Contractor Service Call at Galway Downs Equestrian Centre in Temecula, Riverside
A recent emergency HVAC contractor service call at Galway Downs Equestrian Centre in the beautiful rolling hills of Temecula Valley wine country, Riverside has resulted in happy horses and one very satisfied client.
When Eclipse Equine Sports Therapy Centre, out of Paso Robles, CA, called RAM’s emergency HVAC technicians to take a look at their first off-site cold salt water therapy spa for high-performance horses, it was discovered that their chiller had failed due to a bad glycol pump. The 35° degree salt water relieves pain and inflammation from a horse’s lower limbs and promotes the repair of soft tissue damage.
With little time before a major horse show over the coming weekend, Ram’s skilled technician, Tim (Junior) Skeens, resolved to replace the entire chiller, rather than risk ordering a new pump part from the factory in Texas. After draining the glycol out of the old chiller, adding it to the new chiller, our qualified HVAC technician re-piped the saltwater loop into the new chiller and tied in the high voltage. After turning on the power, the chiller still did not come on. After further investigation, Junior discovered that one of the new chiller’s two glycol pumps seized. After swapping the pump from the old chiller, the new chiller’s pump began to run but still would not remain cold. After troubleshooting controls, it was found that the flow switch needed additional calibration and after further fine tuning, the new chiller fired up.
With four permanent, cold salt water therapy spas at their main facility, the new off-site therapy spas will be a great addition to major horse tracks in California for Eclipse Equine.
24-hour Emergency HVAC Services at Legoland
In the competitive southern California commercial HVAC market, it’s important to choose a reliable HVAC contractor that also provides 24-hour emergency HVAC services.
Such was the case when RAM was contacted by long-time client, Legoland in Carlsbad for emergency work on a Trane large package unit. Aside from providing a full fan and shaft replacement on the unit, RAM’s professional technicians also had to set up tarps on the rooftop to manage the onset of rain that occurred mid-way through the job.
A great way to avoid the stress of requiring 24-hour Emergency HVAC Services is to contact a professional commercial HVAC service company to conduct preventative maintenance on your building’s HVAC systems. This will ensure your systems are running cleanly, safely and efficiently and RAM’s qualified HVAC technicians can monitor your systems to diagnose any potential problems and can to conduct any preventative HVAC repairs before they become critical.
